Love God Greatly: Everlasting CovenantExemplo
Zechariah means “God has remembered again.” God sure did keep His promise to Zechariah! As soon as his baby boy was named, Zechariah’s speech was restored and he immediately praised the Lord.
Much like Mary, Zechariah was filled with thanksgiving and praise at the birth of his son. His “song” as some call it, is different because it is also a prophecy. He reminded those around him that God keeps His promises.
Abraham was no longer around and yet God had not forgotten the promise He made to Abraham. Adam and Eve were no longer living and yet God did not forget His promise that someone would come who would crush the head of the serpent. The time was almost here. A baby would be born who would save His people, and Zechariah’s baby boy would be the one who would prepare the way for this Messiah.
The last piece of this wonderful story was about to fall into place.
Lord, help us to keep a thankful heart no matter what we go through. We have much to be thankful for. You made promises from the time of Adam and Eve and have kept each one. Help us be in awe of Your plan of salvation as we get to see it play itself out throughout Scripture. You are a good God. Thank You. Amen.
