Love God Greatly: Jesus Our EverythingExemplo

Love God Greatly: Jesus Our Everything

Dia 1 de 30

The author of Hebrews described the deity of Christ, explaining how Jesus is the exact representation of God. Jesus is the one who holds all life on earth (Col 1:17). He alone can do this because He is God.

Jesus accomplished a major work when He was on earth: He paid for all the sins of humanity. He cleansed us from all our sin and evil deeds. He humbled Himself in order to make a way for us to have a relationship with God both now and in eternity.

When His work was finished, He sat at God’s right hand. This is a reference to Psalm 110:1, where God spoke to David saying, “Sit down at my right hand.” The use of this Psalm in relation to Jesus shows Jesus’ authority and His legitimacy as the Messiah, the promised son of David.

All of these attributes begin to shape the author’s main argument: Jesus is superior to all. He is superior to the prophets, to the former priests, to Scripture, to David, to creation, and even to the angels. He alone is worthy of our praise!

Lord Jesus, I recognize that You are superior to all. Open my eyes to see how You alone are worthy of praise. Allow me to see the ways I put other things in life, even good and positive things, ahead of You. I want to worship You and follow You with my whole heart and life. Amen.

WHAT DOES S.O.A.P. MEAN?

S– The S stands for Scripture- you physically write out the scripture……you’ll be amazed that what God will reveal to you just by taking the time to slow down and actually write out what you are reading!

O– The O stands for observation- what do you see in the verses that you’re reading? Who is the audience? Is there a repetition of words? What words stand out to you?

A– The A stands for Application- this is when God’s Word becomes personal. What is God saying to me today? How can I apply what I just read to my own personal life? What changes do I need to make? Is there an action that I need to take?

P– And finally P stands for Prayer. Pray God’s Word back to Him. If He has revealed something to you during this time in His Word, pray about it. Confess if He has revealed some sin that is in your life.
