ADVANCE: A Revival DevotionalExemplo
Advance In Trust
We are continuously surrounded by new things: a new phone, a new car, a new holiday destination. There are not many things that gain value as they age. However, there is one thing that immensely gains value over time – and that's relationships!
Having a close friend that you can fully trust is one of the greatest gifts in life. Trust that has been developed and tested over time is the foundation of every thriving relationship.
If you've ever been faced with a challenging season you might have asked yourself, "Can I trust God?" But trust goes both ways and maybe a better question is, "Can God trust you?"
Are you listening to God? Have you fully committed to Him?
King David, a great man of God in the Bible, placed "all the pieces" before God. He trusted God with his whole life. Every day he sought God's presence; every day, he recalled God's goodness and greatness. So many of his writings in the Psalms recall prayers of faith and trust in the promises of God.
Likewise, Caleb was a man who was described numerous times as someone who “followed the Lord wholeheartedly”. The Lord himself described Caleb using this phrase. Imagine God saying that of you!!
Caleb trusted the Lord and His promises with everything he had. Despite dwelling amongst a faithless Israelite nation, he and Joshua remained faithful, trusting the promises of God for the nation, and at the age of 85, Caleb finally got to inherit the land, just as God had promised him.
Imagine how your life would be impacted by simply making the decision to trust God wholeheartedly?
How would you pray?
How would you worship?
How would you give?
How would you approach that “impossible” situation?
Why not take the opportunity today to advance in trust. God is Faithful, His promise over your life is good and true, and as you continue to walk with him, not only will you discover he is trustworthy, but you will discover God will entrust you with his purposes on the earth.
Action Questions: In what area of your life do you want to trust God more?
What’s one thing in your life right now that you can give to God in total surrender and trust?
Prayer: "Father, I give You my whole life. I seek to put my trust in You in every moment of this day. Thank You, Lord, that in the trials and the joys of this life, in the valleys and on the mountaintops, You are worthy of my trust. Amen."
