Love God Greatly: Words MatterExemplo
Our mind is our biggest and most important battlefield. What we think about God, about others, and about ourselves will become the core of our beliefs and, thus, our behavior.
The counsel Paul gives to the fellow Christians in Philippians is to control what they think and filter it through God's Word. What should occupy our time and thoughts? Things that are: true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, commendable, excellent and worthy of praise.
We need to make a habit of using God's Word to filter every thought that comes to our minds. Anything that doesn’t match is not worthy of your time and effort.
“Wrong thinking leads to wrong feeling, and before long the heart and mind are pulled apart and we are strangled by worry. We must realize that thoughts are real and powerful, even though they cannot be seen, weighed, or measured.” - Wiersbe, Warren W. Be Joyful (Philippians)
Dear God, help me filter my thoughts through Your Word. I want to think right about myself. Help me be so full of Your Word that I can detect all the thoughts that come from the enemy of my soul. In Jesus’ name, amen.
