41 Will ComeExemplo
DAY 3 — TOUGHER
Devotion
When David stepped onto the battlefield to confront Goliath, he wasn’t measuring himself by his size or his strength. Goliath had him on both counts. He wasn’t depending on his qualifications as a soldier or his military experience. He had none. But what he had was an inner toughness and confidence that came from relying on the power of God to deliver him.
How did that happen? Well, God in His wisdom had seen fit to send a lion and a bear to fight David in a couple of undercard matches out in the
field when he was tending his sheep. By the time he showed up for the title bout, he wasn’t looking at Goliath as a big, bad giant. No, David saw him as nothing more than an “uncircumcised Philistine . . . [who] has defied the armies of the living God.”
David’s preparation began while he was the least among his family, doing what seemed to be the most insignificant chore. What a great reminder not to sell yourself short! God sees you differently than others see you. God sees you differently than you see yourself. He wants to use you more than even you desire to be used. His plans for you are greater than you could ever imagine, and they are brimming with hope.
The reason David was tougher than Goliath had nothing to do with his natural abilities and everything to do with the God he served. “There are some things that people cannot do, but God can do anything.” Remember who you are in Christ. If the Holy Spirit is inside you, you are tougher than whatever bully is staring you down. You are tougher than any giant that is standing between you and your 41.
HOW HAS GOD ALREADY PREPARED YOU TO STAND STRONG IN YOUR CURRENT SEASON OF TESTING?
Sobre este plano
In the Bible, it rained for 40 days and 40 nights. 41 came and the rain stopped. The people of Israel wandered the wilderness for 40 years. 41 came and a new generation entered their Promised Land. For 40 days Goliath bullied Israel and taunted anyone to fight him. 41 came and David slew Goliath. This 7-day reading plan is a shot of encouragement to help you hold on and stand strong until your 41 comes.
