The Seven Trumpets - Fire from the Altar
Thoughts on the Passage
There are many passages that describe how thunder and lightning comes from the presence of God. This is one of my favorite passages because it describes God’s response to our needs and prayers – through thunder, lightning and earthquakes! Here David cries out to God. God responds – He gets off His throne, comes down to David, rescues David, and scatters his enemies.
In Revelation chapter eight, we see that the angel takes the prayers and incense from the altar and throws it to the earth – it results in thunder, lightning and earthquakes. God responds to our prayers and our cries to Him – and He releases the seven trumpets. We need to see these seven trumpets as God’s response to our prayers. We need to see them as the direct result of our prayer “Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” When we look at the outcome of each trumpet, we will see how God answers our prayers – often in ways that we do not expect, but He does it to bring Kingdom transfer.
It starts with the prayers of God’s people. The prayers of God’s people praying for God to release His Kingdom into our lives, our homes and our world.
Prayer
Father, this is the start of kingdom transfer. I need to see that it starts in heaven with the prayers of God’s people. You choose to release Your response from the altar of our prayers. You choose to take the fire on the altar and release it to my world. So Father, today, I recognize that You are responding to my Kingdom prayers. I want to see Your will in heaven be released into me and my world. I ask that a measure of it happen today. In Jesus Name. Amen.

There is power in prayer. Let me repeat that – THERE IS POWER IN PRAYER. Specifically, the prayers of God’s children. Do you believe God hears your prayers? Do you believe that your prayers carry power? Plan Five of Revelation illustrates how our prayers impact not only our lives personally, but they release the power of God to move in ways that we could not even think or imagine.
