Overwhelmed by My Blessings: Encouragement for Moms (Part 10)Exemplo
Go read Psalm 101. Try the New Living Translation (NLT)
Notice all the scriptures that contain the words “I will”. These two words tell me that I get to decide! I have the ability to determine if “I will” or “I won’t”. It’s a choice. Take out your pen and paper and answer the questions these statements offer as you read this Psalm.
I will sing of Him
Is my heart singing his praises or is it grumbling and complaining?
I will praise Him
Do I praise Him in the difficulties, or only when life is easy and going my way?
I will be careful to obey Him
Am I spending regular time with Him?
I will lead a life of integrity in my home.
Am I the same person at home that I am with my friends or at work?
I will refuse to look at anything vulgar.
What is the quality of what I watch or read? Do I need to make some changes?
I will choose Truth
Do my beliefs line up with God’s Word, or do I follow social norms?
I will not tolerate gossip.
Am I careful to protect others in my conversations? Next time try asking, “Why are you telling me this?”
I will not endure conceit, pride or perverse ideas
Am I protecting my own heart and mind? Am I rooting out the junk?
I will search for faithful friends
Do I need to pray for new friends who make me better rather than keeping me in a complacent place?
I will not not allow deception and lying in my presence.
What are my thoughts about myself? Am I lying to myself or believing lies I need to let go?
Revisit this list often. You can change! You can decide how to respond.
Oh Father, may my heart and mind be fully Yours. May my desires become your desires, my thoughts quickly turned to You. I ask for boldness and honesty of heart and mind to hear Your Spirit reveal to me areas that I need to believe You rather than going my own way. Thank you for your grace that covers, but thank You for Your love that doesn’t leave me where I am. I look forward to continued growth as I align my heart with your Word.
