A Prayer for Captives to be Set Free
“The great thing in prayer is to feel that we are putting our supplications into the bosom of omnipotent love.” ― Andrew Murray
Dear Loving Father,
We desire to have the power, together with your holy people, to grasp the width, length, height, and depth of your love. (Eph. 3:18) We choose to cast our cares upon you because you care for us. (1 Pet. 5:7) Our hearts are heavy for the thousands of children and adults trapped in sex slavery. We boldly bring this concern before your throne of grace, where we receive mercy in times of need. (Heb. 4:16)
Your gospel truth reveals your powerful and loving mission to set captives free. (Isa. 61:1; Luke 4:18) We pray in the name of Jesus that the chains of injustice would be loosened, and the cord of the yoke would be untied to set the oppressed free—mind, body, and soul. (Isa. 58:6) You will deliver the needy who cry out, the afflicted who have no one to help. (Ps. 72:12) Thank you for your active and unmatched love toward us and toward those we bring before you in prayer. In Jesus’ name, amen.
