A Minute For Mommy

DAY 17 OF 31

Someday, When I Get Bigger

Someday, when I get bigger:
o I am going to tie my shoes all by myself.
o I am going to jump off buildings like Spiderman. Yikes!
o I am going to wear my dad's shoes.
o I am going to drive Dad's truck and Caleb is going to sit up front with me. Mom and Dad can sit in the back.
o I am going to have a blue bicycle.
o My hair is going to fall out too (like my dad's.) Then we will both have no hair.
o I am going to work with my friend Jaden.
o I am going to buy a blue airplane and Momma can get a pink one.

Clay gets so excited when he tells me his plans for the future. He is filled with confidence and joy. Both my boys fully embrace life. They do not live in fear or trouble themselves with worry. They are happy and carefree. They believe in the hope and joy awaiting them.

Isn't this exactly what God desires for all his children, and for you? He wants us, children and parents, to embrace life, without fear, trusting in him every step of the way. He wants us to experience life with hope, joy, and excitement. God does not want his children to worry or dread what lies ahead. He wants us to understand he is in control and he has great plans for each of us.

Take a moment today to think about the little things your children look forward to. What are some of the things you looked forward to when you were younger? What are the things you look forward to now? What is keeping you from making your dreams come true? Spend time in prayer today. Hand over your concerns and anxieties to our Lord. He wants you to have confidence and hope in your future. God wants you to experience life with the same joy and excitement as your child. God has a perfect plan just for you.
