The Breath of Lentਨਮੂਨਾ

The Wednesday of Holy Week is sometimes called “Spy Wednesday” because this was the day that Judas plotted against Jesus with the religious authorities to kill Him. Jesus was aware of this plot of betrayal. Yet, on this day, we do not hear of much activity on the part of Jesus.
The Bible doesn't tell us what Jesus did on Holy Wednesday. Many biblical scholars believe Jesus rested on this day and prepared for Passover. It is also believed that Jesus and His disciples rested in Bethany, the home of Lazarus, Martha, and Mary. The greatest preparation that Jesus could make for the pinnacle moment of His ministry was to rest.
This time of repose should speak volumes to us as followers. Even Jesus, the Savior of the world, needed to step away, even when the world around Him was in turmoil. The phrase “Sometimes God calms the storm, and sometimes God calms the child in the midst of the storm” is relevant in a moment like this. This quote is based on the idea that we may face hardship even when we follow the Lord’s bidding. The lesson is honoring God no matter what is stirring around us.
Today, you may face a storm. Amid the storm of betrayal, Jesus was calm. May today’s breath prayer remind you of Christ’s unbroken peace in His storm and grant you peace in whatever you face.
Inhale: As the storm rages around me
Exhale: give me peace within.
