Learning About Forgiveness With St. Patrick

DAY 1 OF 4

The Glory of God

Hello, my name is Patrick.

You may have heard my story.

I walked the span of Ireland

to tell of God’s great glory.

And with a wee green shamrock

I shared of the Three-in-One:

our God―the blessed mystery―

Father, Spirit, and the Son.

Did you know that St. Patrick was a real person, and that he is the reason we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day? How do you celebrate on St. Patrick’s Day?

The book St. Patrick the Forgiver tells us that St. Patrick walked all over Ireland to tell of God’s great glory. What do you think it means to talk about God’s glory?

God’s glory is all the good, amazing, and beautiful things about God, shining out for the world to see. We can see God’s glory in who he is, but also in what he does. We can see his glory in all the wonderful things he has made in nature—from the tiniest flower to the tallest mountain. We can see God’s glory in the loving kindness of our friends. God’s glory is all around us.

Prayer: Thank you, God, for all the good and beautiful things you have given us on this earth.

Activity: What is the most amazing thing you have ever seen in nature? Draw a picture of it. Make the title of your artwork God’s Glory!
