Someone Else's World

DAY 2 OF 20

“Did God really say..." Genesis 3:1

God set us up with a Kingdom of intention and potential. The Garden of Eden is how God originally intended the world to operate.

But like Adam & Eve, we're offered another world, someone else's world, and a question of whether or not God knows what He is doing. Adam and Eve seized the other world, and God graciously gave them what they wanted. This choice sets them on a path of toil, pain, and displacement.

Ever since then, we've been trying to restore the Garden world by our own terms. We want what God offers but not the way He's offering it. You can't have The Garden without God.

So while other minds and agendas promise us the Garden living - rest, peace, satisfaction, joy - it's an empty and disappointing promise. You can't have The Garden without God.

Christ knows what we need and fulfills the longing of our souls. Only He can provide what we're truly looking for. We must be willing to let go of our definition of this Garden living and go to God's.

THINK ABOUT IT:

1. Zoom in on the world you are creating around you. What/who is your source of living?

2. How do we seek and live in the Garden Kingdom God offers us through Christ?

PRAYER PROMPT:

Father, I don't want the mind of others. I want the mind of Christ. I want you to dictate how I should live from now and forevermore. Soften my heart as I seek Your mind.

About this Plan

Someone Else's World

What if we traded our little worlds for the Eternal Kingdom, now and to come? Walk with us, line by line, through the Lord's Prayer as we begin to release our grip on how we think we should live and embrace how Jesus wants us to live.
