Conquering the Fear of Sharing Your FaithSample
Identify what exactly you are afraid of
In the context of evangelism, Christians often face three main fears:
1. Insufficient Knowledge: The worry that you might be asked a question you cannot answer. It’s normal to feel this way, even if you are highly educated. The key is how you respond—honestly admitting that you don’t know the answer or offering to find out more can be a humble and effective approach.
2. Fear of Failure: The concern that you might do more harm than good. Remember, successful evangelism involves sharing the Good News through the power of the Holy Spirit and leaving the results to God. Changing hearts is God’s work, not ours.
3. Fear of Rejection: The anxiety that people will distance themselves upon learning you are a believer. We must ask ourselves what is more important: the approval of people or the fulfilment of God’s will?
Identify: Reflect on which of these fears you relate to the most.
Reflect: How can you challenge and address this fear in your daily life? For instance, how might trusting in the Holy Spirit help you in your efforts to share Jesus?
Father God, grant me the strength to confront my fears related to sharing my faith. Support me as I work on building my confidence and remind me daily of Your unwavering love. Thank You for being with me in every situation. Amen.
