Every morning, I take a walk.

It’s nothing fancy. Just time to breathe, clear my mind, and be with God.

I like to thank God for the little things I see: the sky, the trees, the flowers, even a deer tucked quietly away in the brush.

On my walks, I’m reminded of how often we forget to see God’s hand in the simple, everyday things. But there’s more to it.

Not every day feels as peaceful as my walks. Some mornings, I wake up feeling stressed, overwhelmed, or like nothing’s going my way.

But on those same walks, I’m reminded of this truth:

No matter what’s going on, every good and perfect gift comes from above (James 1:17).

And that’s the heart behind my new song, “The Giver.”

It’s a song of gratitude. A reminder to thank God for the good things.

But here’s the part I really want you to hear: it’s not just about being thankful when everything is going right.

Sometimes, those tough moments — the ones that feel impossible — are the very things that test and grow our faith.

I’ve learned that both the battles and the blessings are gifts from God.

As the chorus says, “Through the battles and the blessings, you're my comfort and my peace.”

God’s comfort doesn’t leave us when things get hard. Sometimes, those tough seasons are where our faith grows the most.

He’s still The Giver of strength, peace, and everything we need to get through.

Maybe right now, everything’s going right. You’re hitting your goals, work is smooth, and life feels good.

Or maybe you’re just trying to keep your head above water, juggling bills, a tough diagnosis, family stress, or just feeling overwhelmed.

Wherever you are, God’s still with you.

I wrote “The Giver” as a simple reminder:

Whether life is great or you’re just trying to get through the day, God’s gifts are still there (sometimes in ways we don’t immediately see).

So here’s my challenge for you:

Take a minute today and thank God for something simple. Maybe it’s the sunshine, a kind word from someone, or even the breath in your lungs.

And if you’re going through something difficult, remember that God’s gifts are always there. He’s using every moment to grow your faith.
