One time, the Pharisees wanted to know about the coming of God’s kingdom. So they asked Jesus. Jesus, God Himself, the King of heaven and earth, would know what’s going on in our world. “The kingdom of God is in your midst” (Luke 17:21), Jesus responded. Jesus was sharing that the kingdom of God is right here in our regular world. The spiritual mixes right in with the physical. Wow.
God’s kingdom is where love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness—His characteristics and His ways—reign. Somehow, right in the midst of our everyday lives is God’s Kingdom. Spiritual stuff is going on right in our midst.
What does that look like? We’re not sure. But we do know that when you pray when you talk to the King of Heaven, pray strategically. Also, pray aware. Your prayers are being heard by the King of the angel armies. The General of the strongest army in existence. Ask Him to direct His army. Ask Him to intervene in your everyday world—the physical and the spiritual are co-existing.
Also, keep your heart open to the idea that there might be more going on in your world than just what you see. Because, as Jesus told us, there is.

About this Plan
History tells many stories of drama regarding kings and queens. This governmental system of power and our fascination with it has existed throughout history—even in Biblical times. In this devotional, we’re going to take a closer look at some of the reigns of the kings who ruled over God’s people and what we can learn from the lives and reigns of the people who led God’s people over the centuries.
