Day 10 | The Spirit of Truth

The unity of God as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is demonstrated in the above Scripture passage. In the same way that Christ was one with the Father and only acted on what He heard from above, the Holy Spirit is also a manifestation of the Godhead. Although neither Christ nor the Spirit are beneath the Father, they frequently exhibit a submissive disposition that is pleasing to God.

It is our responsibility to listen to what the Holy Spirit is saying to us. When we are obedient to the promptings of the Spirit who dwells within us, we will be led into the truth of the wonderful gospel of Christ and given godly wisdom and discernment in every facet of our lives.

The Holy Spirit is our divine advisor. He instructs, exhorts, encourages, comforts, protects, seals, and secures each believer. When we place our faith in Christ, the Holy Spirit identifies us as his own, guaranteeing that we will be saved on the day of redemption (Ephesians 4:30). This seal of the Spirit assures us of God’s protection and promise throughout our lives. On the day of redemption, when our faith becomes sight, the fullness of this promise will be realized, and we will be with the Lord forever.

Reflection: If we want wisdom and direction for our lives, we need to rely on the Holy Spirit, who will instruct us and keep us in the will of God. If you have decisions you need to make, ask the Holy Spirit to guide you rather than leaning on your own understanding.

Prayer: Father, sometimes I rush to get an answer or try to figure things out alone. I repent of that. I ask for help following Your will for my life, and the best way to do that is to get my wisdom and instruction from Your Word and the Holy Spirit. Thank You for the privilege of having the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit. In Jesus’s name, I pray.
