Greatest Love of All

The greatest love is displayed through sacrifice. Have you ever had someone give up something of great value for you? What impact did that have on your life? God demonstrated most clearly the immense beauty of his love through the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross. God’s love did not stop at taking on human form or performing miracles. It allowed people’s hearts to turn to their creator. It underwent the pain of death in order to free us from death’s curse. What lengths does God’s love reach even now!

Jesus did not sacrifice his life only for his friends. He sacrificed his life for everyone, for those who blessed and cursed him alike. He took the weight of our sin, our shame, and our fear, and he allowed death to take his body. Thankfully, that was not the end of the story. He rose again in victory, liberating us from the grip of sin and death, and setting us free in his resurrection power.

Jesus, your love has no match, and yet I want to live by its standard in every area of my life. Fill me with your love so that it may overflow and empower my choices today.
