The Main Characters of the Christmas Storyਨਮੂਨਾ

Day 4 | The Shepherds
In Jesus’ time, shepherds weren’t at the very bottom of society, but they were close. They performed an important job - caring for flocks - but weren’t seen as significant by most people.
When Jesus was born, God didn’t send the announcement to kings or rulers. He sent an angel to shepherds in the fields. These ordinary men were the first to hear the extraordinary news: a Savior had been born in Bethlehem! They believed, visited the baby, and spread the word despite their lowly status.
The shepherds’ story reminds us that the good news of Jesus is for everyone, no matter their status or position. It also shows the power of sharing God’s message, even when it feels like we’re unimportant.
Share the good news of Jesus with someone this week, whether through words, kindness, or an invitation to church.

About this Plan

When we think of the Christmas story, often our minds go to Jesus first. While he is the main figure of Christmas, who are all of the people who were part of the story? What can we learn about them, and how do their individual stories point to a bigger picture?
