Reading With the People of God #8 PeaceSample
Peace in Relationships
Scripture:
Romans 12:18 — "If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone."
Reflection:
Relationships are a powerful part of our lives—some bring joy and connection, while others can be challenging. Take time to reflect on the relationships in your life this year:
- Where did you experience peace and growth in your connections with others?
- Where might God be inviting you to seek peace or offer forgiveness?
Prayer:
Spend some time talking to God about the relationships that shaped your year. Praise Him for the peace and meaning He brought through them, and pray for the areas with tension or conflict. Ask for His wisdom and strength to cultivate peace wherever it is needed.
Sample Prayer:
Lord, thank You for the people You’ve placed in my life. I praise You for the peace and joy You’ve given me through my relationships. Please show me how to cultivate peace where there is conflict and offer forgiveness when needed. Help me reflect Your love in every connection I have. Amen.

About this Plan
Fear touches every life—whether through childhood worries, family anxieties, or mistakes we try to avoid. But Advent invites us to hope for a new reality ruled by peace, not fear. The Son of God entered our broken world to comfort us, overcome fear, and bring lasting peace. May His gospel of peace fill your heart throughout this Advent season! This month’s reading plan follows the lectionary pattern with daily passages from the Psalms, Old Testament, and New Testament, accompanied by Advent devotionals in partnership with 1517.org on the theme of Peace.
