Day 3: Healing for Broken Hearts

“This little one will grow to be a great teacher, healer, and deliverer

He will save the world and deliver us from our sins, evil, and bondage.

He is God with us. His name is Jesus.”

Have you ever felt sad? Or hurt anyone? Anika and her great-auntie Anna were waiting for God to make all the wrong things right again, whether it was things that hurt our hearts or the ways we hurt others.

Jesus came to bring good news to the world. Good to news to the poor, to those whose hearts have been hurt and broken, those who have been stuck and trapped, and those have walked in dark places for a long time. He came to help and rescue us, and He helps us today. And He tells us to love others just like He loves us.

Questions/Activities:

• Who is someone whose heart might be hurting today because they are sad or hurt or afraid? As you think of that person, draw two halves of a heart. Using tape, stickers or glue, put the heart together and write their name on the heart. Ask God to help heal that person’s heart.

Prayer:

Jesus, thank You that You came to deliver us and heal our broken hearts. I pray that You would be healing and restoring hearts today. Help me to love others around me.
