The good news of 1 Peter is that even though we are exiles in a foreign land, we have joined a new eternal family through Jesus.

Peter says that sharing Jesus' sufferings means we will share in his resurrection power as well. We can be comforted because we know that even in trials, God is preparing us for eternal life with Him.
