Exploring online church together while in an LDR can be a great addition to your relationship. The first step is to choose a church service.

Finding the right church service to watch together can be a bit of a puzzle, especially if you're living in different time zones. Luckily, lots of churches record their services, so you don't have to catch them live. You can just pick a time that suits both of you and watch it together. So, how do you choose a church service? There are two great options:

1. Take Turns “Attending” Your Current Church

Since you probably attend different churches, how about taking turns? Watch a service from your church one week, and then check out theirs the following week. This way, both of you can share a part of your spiritual life with each other.

It’s a great opportunity to learn more about each other's faith traditions and understand what your partner's worship environment is like. 2. Choose a New Church To “Attend” Together

Or, you can choose a new church to “attend” together. Find one that fits both your schedules and interests. This can be an exciting way to explore new teachings and worship styles as a couple. Think of it as a little adventure where you're both newcomers, learning and growing together. This shared experience can help create a new tradition just for the two of you. Knowing this is your chosen spiritual home as a couple, even if it’s virtual, can be very special. Exploring sermons, music, and community events from this new church can become a unique and meaningful part of your long-distance relationship.

The most important thing to do is pray about where God wants you to attend church together online. Ask Him for guidance and wisdom to pick a church that will be a positive experience for you both.
