Day 3: Discovering Beauty in the Darkness

Hidden treasures await discovery in the darkness—moments of beauty, wisdom, and grace light the path forward. These treasures remind us of God's presence and providence, guiding us toward a deeper understanding of His purpose and plan for our lives.

We’re more likely to see goodness on the other side of a trying season. Sometimes, it will not be until later that you recognize that your faith has grown deeper or you are showing up differently. Hindsight is always 20/20 but what if we could choose to adapt that belief in the midst of a dark season?

What if we chose to pause while experiencing suffering to be curious about what is available to us in the midst of a dark night? We don't have to wait for a dark season to be over for it to be beneficial for us. The prophet Isaiah indicates an important truth: there are treasures and gifts hidden and stored up in secret spaces.

While we can't expect literal gifts and treasures, we can anticipate that in the season of darkness, there is beauty waiting to be unearthed. When we acknowledge the beauty in darkness, we can handle the tension of navigating it instead of trying to get through it.

Reflect on a moment of unexpected beauty or grace from a season of darkness in your life. How did this experience deepen your faith and trust in God? In what ways did it reveal His presence and provision in uncertainty?

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the hidden treasures of grace and beauty that You bestow upon me, even in the darkest seasons of life. Open my eyes to Your presence and provision, that I may find hope and comfort in Your unfailing love. May I continue to trust in Your goodness and grace, knowing that You are always with me. Amen.
