The Holiness of God
Key Scripture: Isaiah 6:1-4
Welcome to this devotional series, where we’ll journey together through Isaiah 6 to encounter the holiness of God. As we reflect on His majesty, our need for cleansing, and the call to serve, let’s open our hearts to be transformed by His presence. May this time draw us closer to God and prepare us for His work in our lives.
In a time of uncertainty and unrest, Isaiah saw the Lord seated on His throne, high and exalted. This vision wasn't just about God's position but His holiness—His "otherness." Often, we think of God as a superhuman, better than us but still like us. However, God is completely other, infinitely beyond anything we can imagine.
When we focus on God’s holiness, we are reminded of our own inadequacy. Yet, this revelation isn’t meant to crush us but to bring us to a place of awe and reverence. As we gaze upon His holiness, we begin to see ourselves as we truly are and realize our deep need for His grace.
Today, spend time in prayer and reflection, asking God to reveal His holiness to you in a fresh way. Allow this vision of God to prepare your heart for His work in your life.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, You are holy, and I am in awe of Your greatness. Help me to see You as You are, high and lifted up. Let Your holiness inspire in me a deeper reverence and a renewed desire to live for You. Cleanse my heart, Lord, and prepare me for all that You have in store. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
