DAY 2 OF 3

Father God – The Lord (Adonai)

Key Scripture: Genesis 15:1-6 (God’s Covenant with Abram)

Today, we explore another aspect of God's nature: he is our Lord, Adonai. In Genesis 15:1-6, God speaks to Abram, reassuring him with a powerful promise. Abram responds, calling God "Sovereign Lord," recognizing God's supreme authority and lordship over his life.

The term "Adonai" is significant. It translates to "Lord" or "Master," emphasizing God's sovereignty and our relationship to him as servants. This relationship isn't one of oppression but of loving leadership and guidance. Abram's story illustrates this beautifully. Despite his uncertainties, Abram trusted God's promises, acknowledging him as Adonai, the one in control.

In our lives, recognising God as Adonai means submitting to his will and trusting his plans, even when we don't see the whole picture. It means acknowledging that he is our protector, provider, and guide. This submission isn't a burden but a source of peace and strength, knowing that our lives are in the hands of a good and faithful Master.

Reflect on areas in your life where you might be struggling to trust God fully. Are there fears or doubts holding you back? Surrender them to Adonai, trusting that his plans for you are good and that he is more than capable of leading you through any challenge.

Prayer: Sovereign Lord, Adonai, I acknowledge your authority over my life. Help me to trust you completely and to follow your guidance with faith and obedience. Thank you for being my protector and provider. Amen.
