Thunder (S2-E1)

DAY 3 OF 4

I Know

These were Jesus' words to Melek in this episode of The Chosen. It was what the Samaritan woman noticed when she met Jesus at the well. It is abundantly clear, Jesus is God, and Jesus "knows." He is all-knowing.

Frightening?

Perhaps if you have something to hide. But maybe also very comforting when you can't put words to what's inside of you. After all, He already knows.

In the section with Melek, you see how Jesus listens intently and encourages Melek to tell his story. He already knows it all, but is so eager to hear it from his mouth.

The same is true for you and me. Jesus already knows "it all" but He so wants to hear your story. Tell Him what's on your mind.

In the story of the woman from Samaria, you see how she gradually discovers who Jesus is by the things Jesus says and by the things He does. In Jesus' Omniscience, you see something of the Greatness of God. Isn't that a cool perspective? That He knows you through and through is a way of showing how Great He is.

Ask Jesus to show Himself to you in that way so that you will be impressed with Who He is.

His Omniscience need not give you fear, but rather may greatly encourage you.

Take the following questions to think about:

  • Do you notice that Jesus is Omniscient? How do you notice?
  • Do you find that a frightening thought, or reassuring? Why?

Prayer: "Lord, You know everything. Thank You for that, and thank You that even though You already know everything, You want to listen to me and hear my story.

I would like to tell You...

Lord, I walk with ...

Lord, I am thankful for...

Thank You that You know everything. Amen."
