The Importance of the Heart

DAY 6 OF 6

These days our souls (NEH’FESH) are being influenced abundantly (MEH-HODE) by sin (CHET). I hope this reading plan helps you to keep an open heart (LEV) and to choose daily to let God breathe His breath of life into you (NESHAMAH).

Daily surrendering. That is not always that easy. It is a conscious choice, even when you don’t feel like it, or when sin has overwhelmed you. Surrendering is something I love to write about in my other reading plan about worship. A very important theme for me personally as a singer and songwriter.

Maintaining the daily surrender to God’s purpose in my life is something I am growing in personally. As a 27-year old I notice more and more how much we are being influenced (online or offline) on a daily basis by people that are missing God’s purpose for our lives. I don’t want to be influenced by this, but it is not very easy to ignore either.

The reality is, this is not new. It has always been this way. So, it is always important to be aware of the things that influence us on a daily basis. Maybe you have idolized online influencers, or maybe you are struggling with an addiction that you are consuming daily. No worries, there is hope. I’ve been there.

All these things can distract us from God’s purpose for our lives, and it leads to death. But you may know that God has infinite patience with you and that He does not look at appearances, diplomas, or the amount of likes on your post. He looks at your heart, your whole being, and the choices that come out of it. What do you choose today? 🫵

Day 5

About this Plan

The Importance of the Heart

According to the Bible, our existence consists of three parts: spirit, soul, and body. Or not? Because: where is the heart in this? And why is this so important? My name is Daryl Jay Kyle, singer and songwriter. I would like to dive deeper into the importance of the heart, yours and mine.
