Sit, Walk, Stand - a 40 Day Walk Through of EphesiansSample
Eph 5:31-33
Paul continues teaching on marriage and the example it is for what we have with God.
Ephesians 5:31-32
“For this reason, a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.” This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church.
The mystery of marriage is that two become one. While they have unique individual callings and giftings, there is a coming together in spirit, as they enter a covenant, where “mine becomes yours” and “yours becomes mine”. A covenant is a merging of two parties.
God is so passionate about marriage because it’s supposed to be the closest picture we have of our covenant with God. God has merged Himself with us in a union that is a mystery, a coming together where God has become ours and we have become His.
When you understand that, you see and read the promises of the Bible, not as “name it and claim it” magic spells, but as a description and outworking of this unbreakable covenant we have with God.
God says,
Hosea 2:23
I will show my love to the one I called ‘Not my loved one.’
I will say to those called ‘Not my people,’ ‘You are my people’;
and they will say, ‘You are my God.'

About this Plan
Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? The Christian walk can make you feel like striving when really everything has been done for you by Jesus, but there is still so much to be done. This is the tension every Christian walks in. The tension between the NOW & the NOT-YET. We are SEATED with Jesus, now WALK IT OUT, so that you may STAND.
