Sit, Walk, Stand - a 40 Day Walk Through of EphesiansSample
Eph 4:1-6
A topic Paul often to is to remind us to make sure our lives reflect our faith.
Ephesians 4:1
I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.
This is not about earning my salvation but making sure my salvation changes my life from the inside out. And then Paul gives some examples of what this looks like.
Ephesians 4:2-3
Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Paul singles out unity as an example. Unity is about more than just “getting along”.
Unity among God’s people is a prerequisite for and the result of the work of God.
Jesus said in Matthew 5:23-24 that if you remember there is disunity between you and a fellow believer while you are worshiping, you should stop and first reconcile with them. God said that when there is unity, He will command a blessing over us (Psalm 133). Jesus also stated that our love for one another is the primary sign and evidence that we are His followers (John 13:35).
The quality of our relationships is an indicator of how much access we give the Holy Spirit in our lives.
About this Plan
Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? The Christian walk can make you feel like striving when really everything has been done for you by Jesus, but there is still so much to be done. This is the tension every Christian walks in. The tension between the NOW & the NOT-YET. We are SEATED with Jesus, now WALK IT OUT, so that you may STAND.
