All Who Are Weary: God Is My ComfortSample
God of Compassion and Comfort
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. -2 Corinthians 1:3-4
The Promise: God is the God of compassion and comfort.
Hold on to God. Hold on to His comfort, His assurance, His truth, and His faithfulness. Guilt can threaten to expose our weakness and tear us down, but God gives the greater grace and freedom when we lock our hearts to His and receive mercy for those tender days. His compassion softens our trembling thoughts and thumping hearts, and quiets us in His love. Oh, the power of His comfort over our hearts!

Try This: Peruse a Favorite Shop
Roam a bookstore, antique shop, or whatever is a favorite store and peruse what’s on the shelves. Pick up a book, sweater, or picture frame, feel the texture, and test the weight. Take your time switching aisles, making it a surprise to find what’s next. Go slow. Notice the other people in the shop, their movements, and the way the space feels. And if you find something you absolutely treasure, treat yourself.
