WEEK 4, DAY 5—MAKING DISCIPLES

We’re not just called to BE disciples; we’re called to MAKE disciples! Jesus commissioned his disciples to do this with some of his last words before ascending to heaven, in Matthew 28. This is known as "The Great Commission."

The idea of making disciples may seem intimidating, but it’s quite simple! It’s all about following Jesus, sharing it with other people, and following God’s directions and opportunities. Making disciples requires boldness and courage to step forward when God presents you with opportunities! When the person at school asks you a question about your faith, step forward with boldness and share about it. When that person asks you what your church is like, be courageous in talking about it.

When it comes to making disciples, “actions speak louder than words” rings true! You may feel worried about not having the right words to say, but your actions will preach a much better sermon than your words. Words are good, and it’s good to grow in your ability to communicate the good news of Jesus, but your actions speak louder! Focus on setting a great example for the people around you, and they will want what you have.

And pray! Pray for opportunities to share about Jesus, and he will give them to you!
