Evangelism at Easter: To Be Silent or to Shout?

DAY 4 OF 7

Easter is not about eggs, Easter is about Christ.

Perhaps you've seen images with crossed-out symbols of Easter celebrations (such as Easter eggs, Easter cakes, rabbits, etc.) that Christians actively share on social media pages during the holiday period with the inscription, "Easter is not about eggs; Easter is about Christ." The purpose and intentions of such actions are understandable: They want to convey the truth to people. But does this method work? Does such "evangelism" spark interest and positive curiosity about the essence of the holiday? More often than not, on the contrary, these brothers and sisters receive a dose of negativity and indignation in response, and sometimes even hear offensive labels like "sectarians."

Of course, it's worth telling people about the essence of the Easter holiday, but it's important to consider how to do it wisely, choosing words and methods carefully.

Think about how Philip explained the Scriptures to the Ethiopian eunuch. The most important thing is that he walked in the Spirit of God and was sensitive to His voice. He wasn't afraid to approach a stranger and talk to him. He simply "opened his mouth," as it says in Acts 8:35, and began to preach about Jesus.

Pray: Lord Jesus, help me to proclaim You to others. Teach me to walk in Your Spirit and hear Your voice. Grant me peace and tranquility as I speak to strangers, and help me find the right words to converse with them. Amen.

About this Plan

Evangelism at Easter: To Be Silent or to Shout?

Easter is the central holiday for Christians, celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ and His victory over sin and death. Unfortunately, in our society, Easter is undervalued. It's not celebrated with the same fervor as Christmas: homes aren't decorated a month in advance, and families don't sing Easter songs together. Take the next week to reflect on the essence of the holiday and find effective ways for Easter evangelism.
