Understanding the Subject of FaithSample
THE TEST OF FAITH
Today, we will be looking at another aspect of faith that is very critical to our day-to-day living; that is, the test of faith. First of all, I want you to know that the test of faith is individualistic. No two individuals face the same test. Even if you were born on the same day, you must understand each person will have to walk their road of faith.
Every time something unpleasant shows up on your path, it is a test of your faith. Our faith is being tested, and God will not allow a test to come your way if your faith can't handle it. In James 1:2, there are diverse temptations. These diverse temptations are not referring to temptations to sin, but challenges and situations of life facing you. These will always come, but the time and kind of temptation for each person differs. You also need to note that when these tests come, it is not your person that is being tested, but your faith. James 1:3 says, ‘…knowing this that the trying of your faith…..’ Understand that it is the trying of your faith, and He will not allow you to be tested beyond what your faith can handle.
Tests and trials will always be part of this life, and the only place people won’t face tests and trials is in heaven. As long as you are still here on earth, you will face tests and trials; but the advantage of the believers, unlike the unbelievers, is that the believers have faith to handle their tests. So, what you do and say in times of trials and temptations will determine your outcome. While you go through the test of faith, ensure the situation does not dissuade you, focus on what God has said and hold on to it.
Prayer: Lord, I receive grace to handle and pass every test of faith in my destiny journey in Jesus' name. Amen
