Praying During Loneliness
Carole King once wrote a lovely poem about her dedication to a friend; no matter when, no matter where, no matter what season, she would be there as a good friend. Now, of course, Carole King isn't going to be there for you, but I know somebody who will. His name is Jesus.
The King of kings and Lord of lords, the One who fills the universe, is interested in you. Yeah, you. Seriously! God is simultaneously far above you and also in the same room you are right now. He is both in heaven and in your heart. He speaks to you through his wonderful words in the Bible, and he hears absolutely everything you say to him.
You don't need a cell phone or satellite radio to hear his wonderful voice: "You are not alone. It's okay. I'm listening. I'm here. I am with you always, to the very end of the age" (Matthew 28:20).
