(Be) TransformedSample
What does it take to truly be transformed? It starts with going to the right source. The Bible is full of guidance on how to be and live transformed, but Romans 12 cuts right to the point with clear instructions on how to boldly live out our faith.
In order to live boldly on the outside, we must develop strength on the inside. When we look at the life and ministry of Jesus, we notice something about how He prepared. Jesus often retreated to pray alone because He valued time with the Father. The Gospels make mention of this practice of retreating to pray eleven times.
You probably have a friend whom when you spend time with them, you come away feeling energized or blessed by your time together and you’re excited to do it again. Time with the Lord is no different.
Jesus was God in the flesh and still made a point to pray consistently. Jesus retreated often to speak to the Father because He knew the most important person to ever know Him would be God, His Father. It’s the same for us.
The instructions in Romans 12 are counter-cultural and require a form of strength we can only receive from God. Jesus understood this and lived it. When you intentionally spend time with God and in His Word, you become bold and empowered to press back against the ways of the world.
Much of God’s blessing is experienced through time spent with Him, but it is also where we go to ensure our thoughts, values, and desires are shaped and informed by God. Make a new commitment to spend time with God daily.
