What Jesus Said About the Meaning of Life and a Christian WorldviewSample
The meaning of life: God created every person for a specific purpose
The LORD has made everything for its purpose (Proverbs 16:4).
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them (Ephesians 2:10).
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart (Jeremiah 29:11-13).
Sooner or later, people will ask: What am I doing here? Is there someone who loves me? Is my life of any value? Is there anyone that needs me?
Before we did anything or performed anything, God loved us. He loves us despite who we are, irrespective of what we have done. He loves us unconditionally. That does not mean he approves of everything we do but loves us.
The answer to the first question leads to a second question: Does anyone need me? Do I have a purpose? Are there people who need me to survive, love, and help them? If everything only centers around me, life becomes meaningless. Amazingly enough, life changes when I begin to glorify God, be a blessing to others (doing good to them), share the gospel of salvation and help people who experience pain, sickness, brokenness, and lostness.
About this Plan
Maybe the most crucial question of our time is about the meaning of life. With all the scientific advances, people are more and more troubled about meaning. This is the focus of this study.
