WHO IS LEADING YOU AS A CHILD OF GOD?

One key distinguishing mark of a son or daughter of God is how well they respond to the leading of the Spirit of God (Romans 8:14). You must prioritize being led by the Holy Spirit so that you achieve all that is in the plan and the purpose of God for you. Your first responsibility as a child of God in relating with the Spirit of God is to follow his leading. Your safety as a Christian will be directly connected to your ability to yield to the leading of the Holy Spirit.

In Luke 3, Jesus waited for the Holy Spirit to come upon Him and when the Holy Spirit came upon Jesus as He stepped out of the River Jordan, the heavens were opened unto Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: and a voice from heaven, saying, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased" (Luke 3:21-22), and shortly afterwards, the Bible says Jesus, "...was led of the Spirit into the wilderness" (Luke 4:1, KJV).

One key secret of the success of Jesus’ ministry was that He followed the Spirit of God. Jesus said, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He seeth the Father do: for what things soever He doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise" (John 5:19). Before the Holy Spirit came, Jesus led Himself but when the Spirit came, He understood that the Holy Spirit was to lead Him, and a good example of that is 'the Spirit led Him into the wilderness (Matthew 4:1).'

If Jesus was led by the Holy Spirit to execute His earthly assignment, then that is a pattern and a standard we must emulate as sons and daughters of God. So, I ask you again; Who is leading you as a child of God?

PRAYER: Lord, I am a son/daughter in this Kingdom, and I want to be led by the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit, I hereby surrender the leadership of my life to you – lead me and I will follow! Amen!
