Have you ever been in a relationship or friendship with someone and thought: “If they only knew me…” We can tend to live with a certain way projected on the outside, and a very different reality on the inside, out of fear that if people got to know us as we really are they would run away.

This verse from Luke is a reminder that the God of the universe doesn’t just know about you, this God knows you. There are no secrets, nothing is overlooked, and nothing is too inconsequential. Down to the number of hairs on your head, you are seen and known. There is no detail too insignificant to be passed over to God.

The next time you fear what someone might do or think if they knew the parts of you no one else does, remind yourself that God already knows and God hasn’t seen you or loved you any differently. You matter. All of you matters. Down to the number of hairs on your head.
