21 Days: Revive Us Again

DAY 11 OF 21

DAY 11: THE KEY TO YOUR BREAKTHROUGH

Reflection:

Imagine this: if, instead of speaking the message God told him to speak, Ezekiel thought it better to do a dance around the bones or thought the idea was ridiculous altogether and decided to turn around and go home. Would the valley of dry bones have come to life? No. The revival happened because Ezekiel obeyed and spoke the message just as God told him to.

Obedience isn’t always easy. It involves choosing to set aside our preferences, desires, and thoughts. It is choosing God’s ways even when it does not make sense to us. Speaking to a valley of dry bones must have felt quite strange, but Ezekiel did it anyway. The result was an unimaginable revival.

On the contrary, in 1 Samuel 15, King Saul rejected God as Lord when he offered a burnt offering instead of waiting for the Prophet Samuel to arrive, just as he was commanded to. He dishonoured God in His disobedience and was henceforth rejected as King. Here, Samuel emphasised that it pleases the Lord when we obey (1 Sam 15:22).

By choosing obedience, we are acknowledging and honouring God’s Lordship over our life. Only when He is in His rightful place in our life as our Lord can He then release breakthroughs and revivals beyond what we can imagine.

Response:

Take a few moments to quieten your heart and ask God what He wants you to do, what He wants you to pray for, and what He wants you to declare. And don’t just listen, obey!

Tell God your desire to obey him and know His heart. Ask God to help you put aside your preferences and desires and fill you with a desire to do His will.

About this Plan

21 Days: Revive Us Again

Revival. We may have sung it. Prayed for it. Declared it. Most times, revivals are invisible, gradual, and start up quietly in the place that matters the most – in our hearts.
