The Adventure:

Have you ever looked at your fingerprint? If you haven’t… Now’s the time. In all seriousness, look at the crazy detail on your fingerprint. The swooshes and the arches. Maybe the more you look at it the more lines you see. Here’s the crazy thing: your fingerprint is different than every fingerprint that’s ever existed. Even if you had a twin that looked like you in every single way they would still have a different fingerprint. Why is that? Because God, the Creator of mountains, flying squirrels, oceans, stars, volcanos, dolphins, and everything else, created you and created you to be special. He created you uniquely and as we see in the verses above, God created you with a purpose.

God created you differently than everyone else. He created you with different hair color, height, nose shape, passions, and history and He created you with a mission. I don’t know about you but that word mission gets me excited. What’s my mission and can I use a Nerf gun? The mission God gives us here is to live differently.

As I said earlier, God created everything but He created humans special. He gave us a soul and the ability to follow Jesus. We see in the verses that we have a job as humans to take care of the earth because we were made special to God. God thinks all of His creation is good but in His Word, He calls humans very good. Meaning He is so proud of us and wants to live lives on purpose. We were made on purpose by God to live on purpose for God.

The Destination:

So what is our purpose? We find our purpose in Jesus. He gives us life and a mission. The reason why we celebrate Jesus’ birthday is because about 2,000 years ago our purpose was born. Our purpose is to live for Jesus by loving God and loving people. We celebrate Jesus’ birthday because it was the day the Son of God was born. He would spend the rest of His life on Earth showing us how to love God and love people. Jesus loved God and loved people so much that He died for our sins and rose again. What an amazing reason to celebrate Jesus’ birthday!
