14 Prayers for a Widow's Journeyਨਮੂਨਾ

...therefore I will hope...
Lord, every time I turn around, I see something that makes me think of him. I wear the opal ring he gave me. I sit in his lounge chair when I watch TV. His face still smiles at me from family photos.
My heart hitches at these visual reminders, but it also rejoices. The photos especially recall good times. Easter egg hunts in the back yard. Thanksgiving gathered around the dining room table. Rowdy times with everyone throwing clumps of Christmas wrapping paper at each other and me finding a renegade clump of paper under the sofa in July.
Recalling happy times gives me hope, Lord. I choose hope—hope in You, hope in life.
The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.”
