Prayers for a Grateful Heartਨਮੂਨਾ

Good morning, Father,

I woke to the pinkish light of dawn shining through my window - the promise of a new day. I’m grateful for the opportunities this day will bring. I already know it will offer me chances to choose to be kind or unkind to others. It will give my ego the opportunity either to leap forward or take a step back so that I think of others before myself. I ask that you guide the words I say, the tone I use to speak, my actions, and even my facial expressions throughout this day. Father, help me be intentional in being kind and respectful. Keep in the forefront of my mind that I’m representing you in everything I do and each word I say.

Thank you that I woke with energy to help me start this day rested from a night of good sleep. Thank you that yesterday’s shortcomings and failures belong to yesterday, and this is a new day. I’m excited for a fresh start. Oh God, I’m so grateful to have this day to serve you and those around me. Show me how to make the most of it from this early moment until I lay my head on the pillow again tonight. I give you this day, Lord, in gratitude and expectation!
