Not Okay

DAY 19 OF 28

There's a reason geniuses like to play chess. It's a hard game! You can know all the rules about how the different pieces can move and still struggle with exactly what you're supposed to do. Some people spend their entire lives learning how to become chess experts.

If you get really good, you can compete to become a grandmaster — the highest level of chess expert in the world! But it takes a long time, a lot of practice, and a brilliant mind. Not everybody is cut out for it.

Life can be a little like chess sometimes. You can know all the rules about right and wrong and still struggle with what you're supposed to do. It's not easy. That's why not everybody chooses to do the right thing. It's so much easier to do what's easiest!

The Bible calls it a "narrow road." If the road was big and wide, it'd be much easier to walk on without falling off on either side. But when roads are narrow, you must be much more careful. It takes time, patience, and practice to stay on a narrow road, but it leads us to make choices for our good.

So yes, it's not always easy to know right from wrong. God's words remind us it would be this way, but with time and patience, you can learn how to walk the narrow road.

About this Plan

Not Okay

We'll look at four major stressors we all deal with and see how God's words can give us comfort, guidance, and help with each of them. We'll talk about what Jesus offers you when you're not okay, what God wants you to know when people reject you, what to do when it's not easy to do what's right, and when we feel worried, we'll see what God has to say.
