Pray: 14 Daily Moments to Quiet Your Mind & Center Your SoulSample
What causes you to doubt? Maybe difficult circumstances make you second-guess God's goodness. Or maybe watching others suffer causes you to question Him. We all encounter circumstances that can threaten our ability to trust God completely. But we don't have to fear. God gives us a solution.
Before you dive in, take a moment to prepare yourself for prayer. As you breathe in and out, focus on relaxing your body and quieting your mind. Now, turn your thoughts toward what God has prepared for you this morning.
Seeking God and expecting Him to answer requires faith. The Bible says that believing in God's Word and engaging with it will produce faith. As simple as that sounds, applying this truth isn't always smooth sailing. Life can get really complicated, really fast. Sometimes you find yourself lost at sea, with shredded sails and no clue how to work the controls. It's hard to have faith in fearful and frustrating circumstances.
There are times when fear becomes greater than faith. Remember, you can lift your voice and direct your prayers to Him. Be encouraged; you are not alone, and you are not marooned. You have the seal of the Holy Spirit, the promise of God's help with you at all times. Hold fast to hope, for He is faithful. You have the Holy Spirit to show you the way and to assist you. So reach out to God, call out to Him in boldness. Seize this day and call on Jesus, and do so, expecting Him to not only answer you but also bless you beyond measure.
PRAYER
God, I praise You for Your Word and that all Your work is done in faithfulness. I worship You, for You are not like mankind and You do not lie, nor do You change Your mind. I give You praise because You do what You say, and what You say, You fulfill. I exalt You, Lord, for You have done wonderful things; Your plans formed of old are faithful and sure. Sometimes, God, I waver in my confidence in You. I start to forget that I can trust You and that You are so good. Please forgive me for forgetting who You really are, God. Help me always believe that You are who You say You are. Lord, thank You that even when I am faithless, You remain faithful. Thank You that Your faithfulness endures through all generations. Thank You, Lord, for Your Word that is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Thank You for Your Word, God. Thank You that it enriches and enlivens my faith. Lord, You are present and listening. You promised that when I go through difficult waters, I will not drown. Help me hold on to that truth for all my days. Help me to believe in You and earnestly seek You for all my days. Amen.
