Strong as a MotherSample
Esther was a woman of great courage. If you have never read her story, I encourage you to do so. Her strength came from a passion to save her people. While Esther sat in the palace, safe from harm or discomfort, her family was in great danger. She used her courage not to save herself or build herself up but to help others who did not have the power or position she did.
I relate to Esther. Most days, it would just be easier to stay in my place of comfort than make a scene, rock the boat, and risk it for someone else. Mordecai issues a humbling challenge and a reminder to Esther. Ultimately, God will see His purpose prevail. Injustice will be righted. Righteousness will reign. Will you get to play your part in His masterpiece?
There is something in your area of influence that God has designed you for. Are you going to stay comfortable? Or use your courage to stand up for others. Before rushing on for today, take a moment to ask God, what is my “such a time as this” thing?
Jesus, thank You for calling me to You. Thank You for Your strength and courage every day. Help disrupt me from comfort. I want to be part of what You are doing here and now; show me how. In Your Name, Amen.
