Old Testament Glimpses of the Kingdomਨਮੂਨਾ

A Sincere Heart to Love
As you study the histories of men, you find a common thread of truth - kings rule men for the sake of their own name and glory and men serve kings to make them rich and powerful. This is the nature of earthly kingdoms and rule. Occasionally you will find an exception to this generalization, but it is an exception. David was a fantastic exception to this generality. He was constantly blessing the people, giving to the people, and serving the people under his care (2 Samuel 6:18-19). How much more our heavenly King? When we come into the Kingdom, Jesus requires us to give our all, but we can because He gives us His all. We come to a King who deeply loves us and desires to bless us and give us cakes of bread and dates and raisins. Jesus so desires to share all of His goodness and blessings with us; therefore, we can fully trust Him.
Reflection Question:
- What does it look like to bless, give, and serve those around you?
- Do you feel drawn to that?
- If you feel that this is a struggle, ask God to give you a heart that genuinely cares for those around you.
