Long Live the King: Finding Eternal Life Through Jesus

DAY 3 OF 3

Day 3: Forever the King

“I can’t help but lift my hands and sing, Long Live the King!”

The phrase “Long live the King” originates from the French. It was a phrase that was said when one monarch is succeeded by another that takes over control. It was to signify the transfer of power after the death of a King. This transfer of power is what took place when Jesus died on the cross and then rose again. For the believer, darkness no longer has control - We are now children of light! The Bible tells us that now, Jesus is an intercessor for us. He sits at the father's right hand, watching and praying for us. His spirit is in us through the Holy Spirit, and we no longer have to fear death - because he bought us eternal life.

This song encapsulates the story of the Gospel and we pray it will drive you to a place of deep worship and gratitude every time you listen to it. We pray the music and these lyrics will create a spirit of wonder in you, as you reflect on the sacrifice that was so lovingly made on your behalf.

Reflection:

The KING of the universe - whose authority rules and reigns supreme, LOVES you. There is nothing separating you from his presence. What would it look like if you truly believed this truth?
