Jesus' Suffering, Death and Resurrection

DAY 19 OF 19

Jesus is alive!

“Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen.” (Luke 24:5-6)

Some women went to Jesus' tomb on Sunday morning to care for His body. But what a shock ... He was not there! Two angels told them the glad news. Jesus is no longer dead; He has been raised. He is alive.

The angels reminded the women of Jesus' own words. Now they remembered what He told them! They went to tell the news to Jesus’ other followers too, who didn't believe it at first. They were still so confused and sad that there was no room for joy. Only later, when they had seen the empty tomb and Jesus had also appeared to them, did the fog lift, and they became convinced of the wonderful news that their Lord lives.

Even today, many people struggle to believe that Jesus rose from the dead. It is such a challenge to our world order. It seems too good to be true, almost a fairy tale. And yet it is true.

In the Bible, we read how the resurrected Jesus appeared to the women, His disciples, and some people personally, 500 people at once... All these eyewitnesses help us believe the incredible. Jesus has conquered death!

What difference does Jesus' resurrection make to your life?
