Let's Talk Jesus!Sample
‘I don’t think I know enough…’
It’s a fear that lingers, ‘What if I can’t answer their questions?’ ‘What if they figure out that I don’t know enough?’ ‘I’ll talk to them once I’ve watched that link on how to share Jesus…’
The disciples probably had this same fear when Jesus sent them out. Up until that point they got used to having Him around, but now He was asking them to go – minus Him! Jesus could read their minds! And instead of giving them a 2-minute escalator pitch on ‘3 Ways to Introduce Jesus’, all He said was: ‘At that time you will be given what to say.’
Jesus knew that all the information and tools in the world could only do so much. What mattered was the disciples drawing from their shared experiences with Him and all that He had revealed about Himself.
Fast forward 2000 plus years, when actor Letitia Wright (Black Panther) spoke publicly about how her relationship with Christ helped pull her out of depression and prevented her from quitting the industry.
Incase you’re thinking, yeah…well Wright is famous, she’s got a fan following who will probably give enough likes and love. The lesson here is that we don’t need to wait till we become famous or go to Bible college to tell people about Jesus. If you know what Jesus has done in your life, then that’s the best truth to share! And here are two things you can do:
- Continue to spend time with God, through reading the Bible or simple prayer. The more you hang out with your bestie, the more you learn about them, and your relationship becomes stronger and intimate. The same goes with God. Then when you open your mouth to talk about Jesus, you’re really just talking about your BFF!
- Remember that you are never alone. Even if it feels like you have no one, the Holy Spirit is always present to support and guide you.
Prayer: Father, thank you for the gift of Jesus. I ask You for more boldness. Make my heart unwavering. I lay down my fears because I know you’re working behind the scenes. Give me opportunities to share your love today! I trust you, Lord. Amen!

About this Plan
Remember that first encounter with Christ and the burning passion to talk about Him? Eventually that fire became an ember. What happened? ‘I talk about Jesus, but is it convincing enough?’ ‘They don’t want to open up to me.’ While these questions and fears are real, it is important to know what the Word of God has to say. This 5-day devotional is for those wondering how and where to start sharing Jesus.
