Joy in heaven over a saved soul
“I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” (Luke 15:10)
Having your sins forgiven and your relationship with the Lord God restored is a great source of joy, which will last forever! But the saved person is not the only one who rejoices. In Luke 15, Jesus tells some parables about coins, animals and people who got lost. When they are found again, this is reason for joy for their owners or parents, and even for neighbors and friends who hear of it. Then Jesus applies these parables to the conversion of a sinner. When somebody accepts Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, there is rejoicing in heaven, in the presence of the angels. For God wants the best for every single human, and He knows that the highest good is to be in His presence forever. He welcomes sinners to join His great heavenly banquet and finds pleasure in their eternal happiness.
Every saved soul is like a jewel in Jesus’ crown, bringing Him praise and honor and glory for ever and ever (Revelation 5:11-13). Not one of them can be missed. Every single ‘jewel’ is of great worth for God.
If you repent and surrender to Jesus, heaven rejoices over you. Are you also looking for people who are still lost and do you invite them to come to Jesus?
